RED Epic – and by “soon,” I mean now!

November 3rd, 2011

The FedEx guy was a little taken aback by how enthusiastic we were at his arrival. I think I may have squealed like a schoolgirl.

However, I’ll get over the minor humiliation when I set our new beastie up for the first time!

Mysterium X RED ONE Available for Rent in San Diego

September 12th, 2011

We have often struggled with the concept of renting our equipment – particularly our Mysterium-X RED ONE system.  Because we’re not a rental house, we didn’t necessarily have the resources to tech out a rental, nor provide service and support during a rental.  This meant we were always hesitant to provide our RED to the local filmmaking, commercial, and corporate community.  Now, thanks to our friends at Video Gear®, that has changed.

We are proud to announce that Video Gear is the exclusive rental provider of our RED ONE camera system.  With three packages, and discounts for multiple day rentals, the power of the RED One is now available for productions at nearly any budget level.

FCC shoot @ groovy’s studio

September 25th, 2009

The is a temp cut of some footage we shot for Fashion Career College in San Diego. We had a lot of fun with the models and fashion designers, and I think it shows in this piece.

A RED Sample

May 29th, 2009

A client wanted to see a specific sample of what our RED One camera could do, so Bill and I grabbed an intern, set up and shot this sample in a couple hours. Often, giving the client something to look at can really help explain a concept. While we can’t always shoot a proprietary sample for a client, when we can do something like this, it really helps!

What was my “take away” from the experience? Man I love what Bill can make this camera do!

Videos without cameras or lights…? What?!

July 18th, 2008

There are lots of people in this industry who are trying to push the medium as far as it will go, not content with the status quo. These people try to incorporate the fridge technologies from other industries to see what they can do for filmmaking. This is the new Radiohead video for the song “House of Cards”; it’s a cool video on it’s own but it gets cooler when you learn they didn’t use cameras or lights. See what inspiration you can draw from this and then see if you can make it work!!
